I’ve never seen an illustration that aligns perfectly with the clockwork dragon you might glimpse in the background of the northern arcadia books, but the full-color image here and in the header for the site comes tantalizingly close. The menace I read in the pen and ink illustration better reflects the temperament of my clockwork dragon. He isn’t tame, after all. In the final image, the sketch of a full-size clockwork dragon is scaled properly (assuming the stick figure is a person), and the joints are close to what I’d envisioned, even if the look for the torso and head isn’t exactly what I’d imagined.
